Hi, I’m Maria.

Connecting people to opportunity. Talent Acquisition with heart and strategy.

About Me

Hi, I’m Maria, and I’ve spent 16 years working in the nonprofit and financial sectors, focusing on foster care, and as a career coach helping veterans and individuals with disabilities navigate the workplace and the transition into work. I am a poet, mental health and disability activist, creative connector, relationship builder, and a dedicated worker among workers.

I am passionate about knowledge-sharing and envisioning a world full of possibility. I work diligently to create and cultivate safe spaces where people can engage in difficult yet essential conversations that lead to meaningful change. I foster inclusive communities where everyone is valued and welcomed for who they are.

I am neurodivergent, with OCD, ADHD and hearing loss, and am a fierce advocate for vulnerable populations—especially those who are unheard or lack access to resources.

What I’m Doing Now

By day, I work as a corporate recruiter in finance, passionate about disability inclusion and veteran employees, building relationships, and connecting candidates with opportunities. Outside of work, I engage in public speaking, have been featured in publications like GOOD Rx, and volunteer with nonprofits to empower individuals with mental health challenges.

  • I lead a project conducting a needs assessment for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder at Emotions Matter to improve workplace success and sustainability.

  • I share my personal mental health journey through speaking engagements and podcasts.

  • I’m developing webinars and a curriculum to support individuals with mental health challenges in the workplace.

I aim to recruit, advocate, coach, and connect individuals with disabilities and veterans to meaningful opportunities, helping them navigate workplace transitions. I also want to serve as a resource broker, connecting people to the tools and services they need to reach their full potential.

What I Want To Be Doing

  • Support families and individuals with health and treatment needs by connecting them to relevant services.

  • Help people with disabilities navigate life and work, while guiding professionals on how to best interact with them.

  • Be a change maker through workshops and speaking engagements focused on mental health in the workplace, self-advocacy, and building support networks.
